NOM DE GUERRE A/W 08 PREVIEW
Nom De Guerre, which has consistently been one of my favorite brands has another solid season line up from the looks of it. Always sticking to the classics, they are increasing the width of ties and the legs of their jeans. At first look, words that may pop up are subdued, but as always, with NDG it's all about the details (see: the closures on the first coat).

The Fall / Winter 2008 collection takes inspiration from the
American Military Theater of Operations in Europe during
the Second World War, and is reminiscent of both sides,
the Western as well as the Eastern European military. The
range of color consists of sober black, white, and gray,
which conjure the ideas of protean truths brought about by
military intelligence interrogations.
Traditional cotton, waxed cotton, and wool suiting fabrics
are set off by Rubberized cotton fabric utilized in
outerwear pieces, and evocative of the protective clothing
primarily worn by the Eastern European military officers.
Coats are based on standard protective gear; inspired by
extreme and adverse weather conditions with streamlined
features. Finally, graphic t-shirts that
are soft, heavily washed standards, based on the leading
thinkers of the period.
BAND OF OUTSIDERS X SPERRY
There are so many collaborations these days but this one makes sense. A classic brand and brand named after a classic film get together to put out an interesting version of the ubiquitous Top Sider. Band of Outsiders literally flips the shoe inside out. These should be available sometime this month. Check Band of Outsiders for where to get your hands on them.
FEBRUARY ISSUE
Welcome to the second issue of DEJOUR. We’ve gotten a great reception for the first issue, and I’m even more excited about the content we have developed for the second. I was lucky to get the chance to recently hang out with The Virgins and check out their live show. With that being said, I’d like to introduce to you DEJOUR TV. You can check out our exclusive videos of The Virgins live. Also, I must confess to you that I recently learned how to tie a bowtie via You Tube.
I’ll shamefully admit that on the rare occasion I wore a bowtie, it was a clip, on from a wedding I attended years ago. All the bowties in ‘The Young American’ photo shoot were personally tied by me, and I think I have mastered it. It’s something every man should know, like how to tie a knot or mix the perfect martini. Don’t be ashamed and learn for yourself. You never know when it will come in handy.
